I ate a meal!

It's not that I've been vomiting; one just hates to eat when one has a high fever. Today for dinner I managed to eat an entire gyro sandwich, and I was 2/3rds done before I was force feeding myself the rest.

This has gotta be good.

OK - a gyro? Sheesh! When I've been sick, I can barely tolerate soup! Take it easy on the tummy, Paca!

I'm with ello. Hope that was a mello gyro. I was thinking more of toast and tea. And then a little more Sprite.

How's your tummy today? Feeling better? If you're eating, my guess is your fever is down. Right? Have you checked it?

Yeah, I've been picking and poking at chicken noodle soup, toast, crackers, and the like all week. Every once in a while I would get a granola bar down. Which is why it was so exciting to be able to eat a whole non-bland something.

If I keep the acetaminophen coming exactly every four hours, I can keep the fever down now, so this is an improvement. I still can't take deep breaths, cough a lot, and ache in various places. But it's a step forward.

Try a nice, plain old grilled cheese sandwich. Cheese tastes horrible when you're sick, but great when you're feeling better, especially when it's all warm and melted and encased in buttery toast. Total comfort food. High in protein and mushy goodness.

Probably wouldn't hurt to pop a multivitamin with iron, as well.

Glad you're feeling better!

scrambled eggs with raw hamburger mixed in is also good when you're feeling feverish.

There are some weird viruses out there, and they seem to be taking longer to kick than they used to (thanks to the overuse of antibiotics.)

I hope you are feeling better now. flu is not fun at all.

If I'm sick, I know I'm on the mend when I can eat at all, but my first solids are always Cream of Wheat or Malt-o-Meal. How anyone can consider anything greasy is beyond me!

Yay for eating! It does suck to eat when you're really sick.
