Too late now

I just took a "Presidential Matching quiz" linked off of Katze's blog. According to it, Bill Richardson was indeed the person I agreed with most often.

Too bad he just withdrew from the race about an hour ago. Doh!

Anyway, here are my results.

75% Bill Richardson
71% Mike Gravel
67% Barack Obama
65% Hillary Clinton
65% Dennis Kucinich
64% Chris Dodd
64% John Edwards
61% Joe Biden
38% Ron Paul
34% Rudy Giuliani
32% John McCain
32% Mitt Romney
32% Tom Tancredo
28% Mike Huckabee
24% Fred Thompson

2008 Presidential Candidate Matching Quiz

**UPDATE** I just wanted to say that one thing I like about all these results is that the quiz doesn't appear to be a simple liberal to conservative thing. While people are routinely ending up with all Dems at the top (which means I need to go find more conservative friends), the order is moving around for each person. That's good. I was wondering why I am not a great match for anyone. I think it's because I checked "cut spending massively to balance the budget" with a big weighting.

Woohoo! I'm a dem too! Although, I've never heard of two of my top three matches, and I don't know where I've heard Biden's name. I'm so ambivalent about politicians.

Interesting idea. I'm gonna try the quiz- it'll be instructive tio find out if who I'm voting for is who I'm actually aligned with.

Oh- wow- that was fast- I just looked at it- realizied it was short and sweet- and took it.

My results are weird- apparently I agree with no one 31% of the time.
- top 4:

Bill Richardson 69%
Hillary Clinton 62%
John McCain 62%
Barack Obama 61%

I suppose this makes me some sort of weird hybrid creature- but I'll just say- I won't vote for McCain or Clinton. And Richardson is out now. So...

Well, I wouldn't take the quiz' results too seriously. It's obviously short and sweet and I'd guess many of the multiple choices don't actually match what you'd say if you could write your own answer.

Well. I never.

Yes, I have democratic inclinations. And I'd love to see a female President. But why, oh, why does it have to be this one?

Who'd a thought this would be so popular? To answer some questions, the unknown Democratic candidates are either current members of Congress or a past member of Congress. Dodd, Biden, Obama, and Clinton are current Senators. Edwards is a former Senator. Kucinich is in the House (I believe) and Gravel once was. Gravel is the greatest outlier among the Dems position-wise, I believe.

Precie, if it makes you feel any better, it looks like you actually tied for Clinton, Edwards, and Richardson, and Clinton is only first because of being alphabetized that way. And Obama is only 1% off, clearly within the margin of error. :) So you can feel free to vote your inclinations.

Hey, Precie. Don't worry, It doesn't have to be this one.

Here's the thing - it drives me crazy that women may be voting for Hillary because she's a woman. What a dumbass reason.

I think of it this way:

Voting for someone simply because the person does NOT have a penis is just as stupid as voting for someone simply because they DO. Have a penis.

Hm, I got Obama. As a non-US voter, it's all a bit pointless, but interesting to see where my preferences were. All my top picks were Democrats.

Paca--Ah, yes, thanks for pushing me past my knee-jerk reaction! Phew.

Robin--EXACTLY. Don't even get me started on how the "tearing up" may have drawn the surge of "high school educated women" who essentially gave NH to Clinton. No freaking pity votes, ladies!

Yep, precie- that "tearing up" crap just royally pisses me off.

What's she freaking gonna do when a "bad guy" is bothering her, if, shudder, shudder, she makes it in? Is she gonna pucker up and cry? Give me a break. We may as well go back to the freakin' Stone Age.
Thanks a bunch, Hillie baby.

First, you marry a womanizer, even though you're smarter than he is. Purportedly.

Then, you let him screw around on you over and over again without snipping his nuts, either literally or figuratively, so you and yours can stay in power. And now with the fake boo-hoos. Give me a BREAK. I could say more. I really, really could.

OK - I will say more. This fall, I went to a cocktail party - and in that cocktail party there 'lived' a literary agent. I watched him drag out some crocodile tears of gratitude, which he turned on and off with a spigot-like certainty. I saw him do it. And I watched people around me - and they actually believed the little shit.
Unbelievable, and yet true.

Maybe the two of them are related.
